Rick Warren, author of the world famous book, The Purpose Driven Life once said that “a balanced church will celebrate God’s presence in worship, communicate God’s word in evangelism, incorporate God’s family in fellowship, educate God’s people in discipleship, and demonstrate God’s love in service.”
Putting this in a logical sequence we might describe the fivefold purpose of the church as Connecting people in fellowship, Growing people in Christ likeness, training them to Serve one another in ministry, sending them out to Proclaim Jesus and doing all this in a lifestyle of Worship.
One key step in implementing these purposes is C.L.A.S.S - Christian Life and Service Seminars. The baseball diamond serves as a useful imagery for C.L.A.S.S.
CLASS 101: Discovering Liberty Community ChurchThis class is the basic introduction to our church family. Since we have people from many different church backgrounds, this class was designed to clearly explain who and what our church is.
CLASS 201: Discovering Spiritual Maturity
This class will focus on four basic habits that every Christian needs to develop in order to grow to spiritual maturity. This class will equip you with the skills you need to begin these habits and will explain the tools you will need to continue these habits.
CLASS 301 Discovering My Ministry
This class helps us understand what God made us to be and what He intends for us to DO. God is consistent in His plan for each of our lives. He would not give us inborn talents and temperaments, spiritual gifts, and all sorts of life experiences and then not use them! By reviewing and studying these factors, we can discover the ministry has for us... the unique way God intends for us to serve Him.
CLASS 401 Discovering My Life Mission
This class will help us to commit the rest of our lives to being a messenger of God’s good news to other people, using our time, talents, and treasures for His kingdom regardless of where it leads or what it costs.
